    Can you do the Hidden Meaning of Chronicle?

    • @GeriatricFan1963
      @GeriatricFan1963 7 лет назад +4

      Meh, Chronicle was a good concept but the characters sucked; I only saw it once, about a year after it first came out, but I remember feeling quite disappointed by the end. So many bad, bad decisions made by the three leads; Andrew was the only one that was interesting for me and they just turned him into "Bullied kid who goes crazy and tries to kill everyone", which felt really reductive and silly. Also the found footage thing wears really thin by the end. Don't get me wrong, I didn't hate Chronicle; I actually enjoyed the first part of the film and the VFX was really solid and did a good job of convincing the audience that they had superpowers, but it's not this masterpiece that a lot of people make it out to be. The ending also fell really flat for me.

      doctor lady says why beast isnt 24th. she believes that it is fantasy, not a genuine psycho like others. towards the end doctor lady acknowledges it but it isnt the case. any man can crush that old bag of bones. he is an youthful muscular man. and she stabs him with a butter knife which breaks into two pieces. if his hide was that of a rhino, it shud have bent, like how neo and that monk kid shows in matrix part1 n 3. she stabbing him backwards, without an force and it shud have bent instead of cut. in next part , another doctor lady, part of a cult group, makes them believe they are not .disproves their existence.

      It tells me that someone working on the movie has fired a gun before and knows that going for a headshot is absurdly stupid in a life or death situation.

    Or Kevin is just a superhuman like David Dunn, which would undermine all the wonderful musings of this video.
    In fact maybe his personalities come from a similiar source like Dunn's "Crime Touch" and he assimilates parts of his victims psyche.

    • @cosmicmcmoon5773
      @cosmicmcmoon5773 7 лет назад +3

      Yeah, this movie fits the theme and story of Unbreakable quite well. Mr. Glass had theorized that there were other superhumans besides David Dunn, and 'The Beast" personality in Split is superhuman. It also fits the theme of broken and damaged people, like Mr. Glass.

      EwanMakeMovies I disagree. I really liked it, although it certainly did have some clunky dialogue. Actually, the reveal of the twist I found to be cheesy in it's execution. But there is just too much good in the film for me to dislike it.

      Jordan Cadwell I understand that opinions vary, but I thought they handled the very serious issues of mental health and sexual abuse about as deftly as a shark with mittens on its fins, to the point where it left me feeling unclean. If you are going to handle this stuff you need to either A. Have something relevant and well thought out to say, or B. Go full blown exploitation and give us a satisfying ending to the rapist uncle story, rather than the vague implications of the final scene.
      You know what would have made me give this film a pass? Have "The Beast" eat and kill Uncle Bad-Touch in the 3rd act. Now that would have at very least been fun and given me some closure.
      As it stands, 'Split' is a movie in which two sex offenders go unpunished, and I just can't get behind that in my popcorn cinema.
      I hope that made sense and didn't come off as rude or anything.
      I really like being able to discuss these things with other movie lovers in a forum like this.

      MinecraftoryKyle Considering that the movie takes place in a world where supernatural powers exist, maybe it wasn't really a mental illness as someone sugested in the comments
      Although I'd agree that the hints might have been too subtle

    Goodness, I really hope they tear Split a new one.
    I thought it was a pretty shameless and nasty flick.
    I mean, I love exploitation cinema, but Split felt pretentious, heartless and made with no love.
    I know that's just my dumb opinion, and McAvoy was great, but I was (perhaps because of the positive reviews) deeply disappointed by the movie.

    There's another movie called 'Split' that came out in 1989 and explores philosophical concepts similar to 'Dark City' and 'The Matrix'.
    3:06 Who is one to judge another's suffering? Or to dare to claim that someone else hasn't "suffered enough?" You'd have to be psychic to make that judgy judgment.
    3:38 Shotguns don't use bullets. Slugs don't count. They're technically different. The fact that he specifically withstands even shotgun blasts makes it even more impressive.

    "Mr.Glass" feeling of Duality. He is broken and fragile. So to make sense of his misfortune. There MUST be someone the opposite. So he goes on what he sees as a justified rampage looking for him
